About The Department

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a unique centre of Tamilnadu College of Engineering established in 2022. This Department offers a 4 year B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) Programme. It has a heartfelt team of dedicated faculty members with a sound knowledge in various areas and has the state-of-art facilities for various laboratories and supports smart class learning.

Artificial Intelligence( AI) and Data Science( DS) is a new field of study that deals with lodging knowledge from data using processes, methodologies and ways drawn from various disciplines analogous as statistics, cognitive wisdom and computing and information wisdom. It’s a specialized field that deals with the creation of data driven results that are used in various industriousness including banking, transportation, logistics, health care and customer service.

AI and Data Science are heralding slice- edge new results for businesses and everyday life, varying from SMART contraptions to Netflix recommendations and products like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home. According to a study, AI and Data Science technologies are used in some form by 77 of the products that we use on a quotidian base.

During the period of study, scholars will learn Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Machine knowledge, Deep Learning, Social Network Analytics, Data Security and insulation and other related subjects.

Program Outcomes

  • Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the soIdentify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

LABORATORY FACILITIES

Live-in-Labs is a multidisciplinary, “theory into practice” program, that facilitates the research, development, and deployment of sustainable solutions for current challenges faced by rural communities in India. This provides students an experiential learning opportunity where they can directly interact, observe, study, and live in rural communities in order to gain a better understanding of problems.

Our Department is equipped with latest infrastructure and imparting technical education and serving the students. This research laboratory is equipped with most sophisticated imported equipment enabling to carry out the research in the frontier area. The department has state of art laboratories having nearly 900 computers with latest configurations with all the necessary software and packages with updated versions of operating system and antivirus software.
